Requirements:
Graduated (with a diploma) from a NYC high school (any borough)
Attend or attended post-secondary education at a Top-50 or prestigious university
Have no criminal record
Have previous experience in college applications (Being a past applicant counts)
Volunteer Roles
Mentor
Strategist
Mentors will guide and assist their assigned mentees through the college application process. They will build a personal connection with their mentee, provide critical support, and help navigate the complexities of applying to college.
Strategists evaluate and provide high-level feedback on students’ applications, focusing on essay structure, cohesiveness, and narrative flow. Working alongside Essay Application Mentors, you’ll be reviewing applications for overall impact, ensuring that each element aligns with the student’s story.
